Overview
Context
Summer 2024, I interned 12 weeks at Liquidnet, a division of TP ICAP, the world’s largest interdealer broker.
At a place like TP ICAP, or any high-stakes team, you rarely get a neat brief tied with a bow. More often, you walk into ambiguity.
As a designer, I don’t wait for clarity, I help create it.

Impact
— Refined and Developed Liquidnet Design System
Revamped 11+ key components, including Buttons, Checkboxes, Data Grids, and Switches,… to enhance functionality and streamline the user experience.
— Owned and Delivered new Internal Trading Platform
Partnered with 2 PMs and brokers from the UK office to design the new IOIA Dashboard, optimizing it to streamline tracking and simplify trading for both traders and brokers.
— Created and Designed new Client Portal Dashboard
Collaborated with 2 PMs to deliver new design for the Liquidnet Client Dashboard, creating intuitive interfaces that effectively visualized complex trading data.

Reflections
— Clarity from Complexity
I went from staring at intimidating walls of numbers to turning them into interfaces you could actually breathe in. It turns out, breaking down dense, unfamiliar information into decision-ready layouts is a skill, and now, one of my favorite parts of the job.
— Design for Transparency
I learned that trust isn’t just built with handshakes, it’s built in pixels. By creating clear, truthful data visualizations, I made it easier for users to believe what they saw, and for teams to stand behind it.
— Collaboration with Engineers
Working with engineers taught me that “alignment” isn’t just a Figma tool. I got better at translating design intent into code-friendly language, working within constraints, and occasionally finding creative detours when the “perfect” wasn’t possible.
